If the hybrid alternative of the Ford Fusion appeals more to you, then you will be using its electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and its Atkinson-cycle I-4 2.0-liter engine. If the standard gas powertrain of the popular Ford Fusion has instead captured your attention, you will be using its six-speed automatic transmission.

Interestingly, the gasoline Ford Fusion version offers a larger engine selection, and Conneaut, OH drivers will have to decide between a Duratec engine and an EcoBoost engine. If you go with the EcoBoost, then you will have another decision to make, and that decision is between 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter. The standard Duratec option is 2.5-liter. Depending on your Fusion engine selection, your combined mpg could be anywhere from 25 mpg to 27 mpg.

Installing some of the Ford Fusion’s available features as well is something Greg Sweet Ford highly recommends. Auto Start-Stop Technology and Intelligent AWD are two examples.
